Maid and Butler Day brought to Falls Church this year, crazy costumes, scatter¬ brained stunts such as playing ring-around- the-rosie, and general silliness. This annual festivity was sponsored by the Key Club and Keyettes to raise money for the March of Dimes. Students bought one chance for a dime, or three for a quarter on the maid or butler of their choice to be a slave for a day. After the big drawing, the masters were announced, and the fun began. The masters brought all sorts of outfits, paraphanalia, and signs for their slaves to wear throughout the school day. It was embarrasing for the club members, but laughs and fun for their owners and all for a very worthwhile cause. Judy Clements pleads with her master not to complete his plans. MAID AND BUTLER DAY BREAKS THE DAILY ROUTINE OF SCHOOL Karen Olivola laughs at Brian Hart ' s absurdities. “And it only cost me $5.95!” exclaims Leonard Pumphrey. 28

Natalie Peters acts out her part in the Variety Show. Maria Rojas displays her talents through a Spanish dance. VARIETY SHOW ENABLES STUDENTS TO DISPLAY TALENTS The MC’s add a little comedy to the Variety Show. The annual Variety Show was an excellent display of the talented students at Falls Church High. Under the direction of Mrs. Frances Crum, the participants presented such varied talents as exotic belly dancing singing, comedy and Spanish dancing. Stage preparations, advanced publicity, and many rehearsals filled the weeks before the March 17 show. The money raised from the show went to the Art Department. However, the success was not only in the money raised, but in giving students a chance to exercise their talents and abilities. The three masters-of-ceremony announced all the acts and brought the comic highlights to the show. The entire evening was very enjoyable to the audience and participants alike.
