DECORATIONS MAKE ATMOSPHERE FOR SADIE HAWKINS Dogpatch came alive once again this year at the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance. Everything started with the competition among the seniors for the characters. Following the tradition of Falls Church, those seniors running for characters grubbed in the halls begging for money. Those who grubbed the most money portrayed one of the twelve characters at the dance. After four days of jingling coins in cans, never-ending pleas for donations, and girls asking guys for dates, the big day finally came. The cafeteria was appropriately decorated with hay and cornstalks giving it the appearance of a barn. Naturally, the highlight of everyone’s evening was being illegally married for the remaining three hours with Marryin’ Sam performing the ceremony. Anything missing, Bob? 18

STUDENTS SHOW PRIDE IN FALLS CHURCH Band members show their pride with a well-decorated main hall. Every year the students at Falls Churcn show their pride in their school through Pride Week. Walking through the halls during Pride Week, one could easily see school spirit and enthusiasm present everywhere. Classes and clubs participated in honoring the school by helping to decorate the halls and lobbies. Green and white streamers could be seen anywhere as well as many bright, spirited posters and banners. The Civinettes and Freshmen Class came out on top in the hall competition. Red and blue voodoo dolls made out of yarn added to spirit by hexing Stuart. The week was finished off with a memorable pep rally in the dark in which the cheerleaders cheered with glow in the dark tape wrapped around their hands and wrists. Cheerleaders begin work on the difficult cafeteria lobby. Ron Taylor seems to be having some difficulty in mounting the Keyette poster. 20
