7 ,if L 1 . N., '1 'S iiiiii S' a i 11 ' 11 l O O ...-....-' 0..-- U I 4 ry T it C' D 4 wlkaaaye The time has come for the parting of the ways. Many of you will maintain Contact with each other throughout your lives, but for many others, this year will mark the end of what we hope has been a time of companionship in a common goal - - that of self improvement. You will perhaps realize in the future that many of the values that your school has tried to impart are becoming increasingly more important. This is a sign of maturity and an indication that you are becoming ready to assume your positions of leadership. Congratulations to you Seniors, and for those underclassmen returning, we give the responsibility for providing the leadership so vital to a Student Body. It has been a privilege to be your Principal during the past year and share with you some of the excitement of High School life. Russell Stauffer

MESSINGER Mr. Bunntv EAST Bunnsv The late Charles E. Rugh, Professor of Education at the University of California, defined education as follows: Education is the total process and procedure of reciprocating life responses by which institutions, civilization, and personality are achieved. Thus interpreted, education begins at least at birth and continues throughout life. Education takes place only when one interacts with his environment. One's true environment consists of all those persons and things with which one comes in contact and to which one responds. Schooling is a very important part of the whole process of education. It is hoped sincerely that the total experiences, thus far, for you have been of such quality that they have contributed greatly toward the development of an impelling desire on your part to contribute to the improvement of our institutions and our civilization, and of your person- ality. You have had rich experiences in school involving relationships with other students, with teachers and administrators, and with parents, other relatives, and other friends, who are all intensely interested in providing for you the best educational experiences possible. Because of these experiences, you should be more able to take your places as contributing members in our institutions such as the home, the family, the Church, the state, the nation, and the world. The total experiences you have had throughout your school years should help you to make great contributions to the civilization of the world. Personality is sometimes thought of as the resultant of the sum total of learnings to date plus inherited tendencies and characteristics. The parents, teachers, and others responsible for guiding your growth and development throughout the first eighteen years of your lives have attempted ardently to help you to develop your personalities to the utmost in the right direction. The best wishes of all of us go with you as you further develop your potentialities through continuous study and worthwhile experiences in the golden years that are yours. Very cordially yours, cQ A District Superintendent
