MR. VON REYN Dear Friends: lt is a privilege to speak to you from the written page of your Falconaire. Moy I take this occasion to give emphasis to the purposes of your education and the responsibilities which evolve upon you because of it. lt has been our objective to provide you with the facts and information known as Western Culture. Simultaneously, your parents and teachers have endeavored to present to you the economic, political and social patterns of conduct, which, combined with these facts, will enable you to succeed as a citizen. Upon graduation you must continue your education, whether formal or informal, so that you daily become a more active, effective member of the Nation's citizenry. The survival of the free world depends upon each adult's vigorous assumption of his God-given rights and responsibilities. The challenge to the Class of '61 is great. The opportunities are unlimited. ' We have strong faith in your ability to meet the test. Congratulations and best: wishes. Malik' V011 Evehardt vonReyn

January 5, 1961 Greetings to the Class of l96l: Soon you will be encountering many new challenging experiences. The degree of success that you achieve will be determined largely by the amount of effort exerted by you. Too many citizens of our schools and communities have been satisfied with mediocrity. As a result, we have met with only mediocre success in many areas of endeavor. Too many people have taken seriously and literally the friendly parting admonition to Take it easy! Perhaps we have been taking it too easy when there has been a definite need for hard work and diligent application to the tasks before us. Parents and taxpayers of our School District and State have provided you with many of the basic skills and tools necessary for meeting new challenges, new duties and responsibilities. People sometimes question the wisdom of spending so much money on education when students show evidence of not appreciating its importance or value. Students and all of us must take greater advantage of educational opportunities, and we must apply those things we learn. The increasing complexity of all activities of society make it necessary for us to continue and to increase our learning - whether we are in high school, college, business, industry, the armed forces, or in the home. Changes are now taking place very rapidly, and we must continue to study and do our homework or we will be left far behind. Remember that your personal success and prosperity and the success and prosperity of our community and nation are directly related to your level of education and to how hard you work at fulfilling your duties and responsibilities. What does the future hold in store for you? Sincerely, GB!vd Supervising Principal GREGORY BENSON l

BOARD OF Mr. Merlan Swanson Mr. Roger Fales Mrs. Elizabeth Larson Each year this page of the Falconaire is set aside to honor our Board of Education. This gesture is an inadequate acknowledgement of constant willingness to aid both the students and the administration in improving our school system. The Board meets bi-monthly in the high school building to discuss the many problems that arise. One of the major problems facing this group of dedicated individuals each year is the arduous task of drawing up the annual school budget.
