SENIOR HISTORY V N September 1942, hand in hand we sailed up the steps of Falconer High School as freshmen and dropped our anchors in rooms 201 and 104. The crew consisted of members from the Parochial, Kennedy, and Falconer schools. The following officers were chosen: Captain-Pat McCullough, First Mate- Burdette Carlson, Second Mate-Pauline Ognibene, and Third Mate-Marilyn Ecklund. We held a skating party and a spring dance which included our talented members in its floor show. We worked hard the first year and kept the boat sailing along very swiftly. In September 1943, as Sophomores, we floated back to the schoolhouse as experienced, able-bodied seamen. We elected our new Captain-Burdette Carlson, First Mate-Donald Coeg and Second Mate-Barbara Peterson. We held the usual dances but found that most of our able-bodied seamen could not catch on to the art of dancing . Thanks to our officers who piloted us safely through the second year of our voyage, we are entering the junior Class having gained much knowledge and some dignity. ln September 1944, we hoisted our anchor and unanimously decided to increase our knowledge. Slaving morning, noon, and night, didn't bother us for we enjoyed every minute of it. The following officers were elected for our third voyage: Captain-Roy Hine, First Mate-Vic Digirolarno, Second Mate- Marie VanBureng Third Mate-Herbert Harrington. We sailed into port to let off Dana Wilson, who joined the Senior Class. The year was spent toiling for the all important annual-the junior-Senior Banquet-which by the way, proved to be a great success. Music was furnished by Chuck Andolora and his Orchestra. Of our many endeavors to raise money, the spaghetti supper proved most enjoyable for many of our hungry members. The school direc- tory published during the year helped us financially to reach our goal. As Seniors of '46 we anchored in Rooms 23 and 203. At once we elected our important officers for our fourth and final voyage: Captain-Donald Coeg First Mate-Robert Fuller, Second Mate-Marie VanBuren, and Third Mate- Herbert Harrington. The cruiser sailed on with the class motto: Tonight we launch, where shall we anchor? What an active year for the Seniors! The great event -the Senior Play--was a huge success and brought in a good profit. We ended this eventful year with a tearful Adieu from each of the seniors--four years have vanished before the horizon. With lowered lifeboats, wie will row to success in the future-we hope. To the Seniors of '47 we wish the best of luck and God speed. 12

DON COE President Bowling and baseball occupy most of Don's leisure time, He manages to main- tain a high scholastic average although he works part time in the news-room. Curly's splendid interpretation of Bob in Foot-Loose proved his dramatic abil- ity. He has also proved to be a capable and efficient class president! MARIE VAN BUREN Secretary Marie's hours out of school are spent selling tickets at the State Theater. She always seems to have a shadow follow- ing her-could it be Roy? In Marie we find a fine sense of humor, a very agree- able disposition, a reserved manner but a cheerful, amicable smile. MR. ALLAN FRANK Adviser FRED AIKEN ln case you've been wondering who the dark-haired Romeo is who is al- ways with Russ Callihan, it's our one and only Fred Aiken. This rugged in- dividual is active on the Corridor and Falcon Staff, in Hi-Y, and is publicity chairman of the Senior Class Play. This handsome farm boy is very ambitious which is proved by the tact that he went out for football. We wish you the best of luck in finding yourself a 'little woman and settling down to farm life. PEGGY BAKER In Peg we find all the qualities of a swell pal. Peg is always cheerful, with a ready smile for everyone. Even though she resides out of town, she is constantly willing to lend a helping hand in school activities. Peg has a beauti- ful diamond on the third finger of her left hand. She and her sailor intend to hear wedding bells ring this summer. Here's mishing you lots of luck in your domestic 1 e. HAROLD BENNETT Although Harold hails from a rural com- munity, he did not let this obstacle hinder his school work and activities. He is an active member of the Orchestra, French Club, and Honor Society. Although quiet and reserved, he will do anything for his friends at any time-a good reason to believe that he will always succeed in the future. GEORGE BRAKEMAN Kitty Brakeman, one of the handsom- est boys in the senior class, is really the shy type ot person. Shirley seems to occupy most of his precious time, how- ever, don't let this bother you girlsl He has not decided as yet what he would like to do upon graduation, but we are sure that whatever it is it can not help but be very successful. May the best of luck be yours in whatever occupation you may choose. ROBERT FULLER Vice President A newcomer from Buffalo in his senior year, Bob really made a hit and became vice-president of our class. We like Bob because he is willing to help in class activities. He is a little shy in English class but does all right in athletics. Bob is part of that State gang and can be identified by his green sweater. HERBERT HARRINGTON Treasurer If you want to know all the answers, just ask Herb, His true brilliance is proved by his excellent marks, Although he hails from out of town, he does more than his share in participating in school activities. Though Herb is a quiet fellow, he is pop- ular with everyone. Success is inevitable for you, Herb. MRS. EDYTHE MILLER Adviser y KENNETH BURCH This tall, quiet, curly-haired senior, bet- ter known as Kenny, spends much of his time at Shea's. Here he acts as usher 'till the late hours of the night and wee hours of the morning. With all this am- bition we know Kenny will have a suc- cessful future. FRANK CAFFOE Frank or Iunior is an easy-going sen- ior with lots of initiative. He is the ed- itor of the school paper, the Falcon, and is also a member of the Honor Society. He can be seen at the Roost playing the bass viol with the Stardusters. He is cheerful and is always eager to help. We have enjoyed having Frank in our midst, and we are certain he will fulfill his am- bition of becoming a plastic surgeon. RUSSELL CALLIHAN Mania is a happy-go-lucky senior who makes one of the best of friends. He is often seen walking down the hall with his one-and-only Ianet. It must be love . Again he is with his best friend Fred. Russ, the senior class wants to wish you a future filled with constant happiness and everlasting success. HERBERT CARLBEHG Popular! Friendly! Ambitiousl Who else but our Herb? Herb has been the chair- man of the Roost this year and has also played saxophone with the Star- dusters.
