VIOLA NELSON This attractive young lady is patriotic liecause after graduation. Yi plans to oh' tain a position in a defense industry to further the national war effort. You can easily tell she is Swedish because of her clear hlue eyes, Her pleasant disposition has gained her many friends. LOIS NORTON Rare indeed is the person who is as loyal and dept-ndalvle as Lois and as for disposi- tion, nearly everyone is familiar with her constant smile. lit-ing rather short has given her the appearance of a' ph-asingly plump girl. l ret'kles that were once prom- inent are non fading ax she grows older. So ardently has his in- strument been studied, that Hrst chair is his in hoth the organizations demanrling a reed section. Relieving in physical fitness May- nard takes full advantage of the equipment in our gym. Mac is a' great follower of pinochle and other games of chance. lleing an adroit square dancer. he never misses a Saturday night dance unless roller skating holds his attention. JACK MOORE Here-'s a guy a little dilterent from most. You don't see ,lack w'olting around the halls. Nluch of his time is spent on radio down in the hasement of l .ll.S. He and Sig were the manufacturers of the Snow'- mohile. After school. ,lack expects tn be in the armed forces, JOHN NELSON A howler of recognized skill, this fellow will try anything within reason, john has a very pleasing smile which is shown often and his unruly copper hair shows that his :rncestors may have come from northern liurope. lle has the ahility to get passing grades, even if he doesn't try too hard. XVILMA NEWTON XYihna New'tun's heart is in the Army and we can see why the Army fellow' likes her. She is extremely attractive hecanse of her pretty hair and eyes and flawless appear- ance. MURIEL OISHEI llc-re is another of the unavailahles of the feminine sex from the senior class. Though married. Kluriel is still in school. for her hnhhy is serving his country, She should he proud aml no donht is! ller many'iriends enjoy her jolly company lit-cause of her sense of humor and otherxvise pleasing per- eonality. JOYCE PETERSON From away up town comes hlondshaired Joyce Peterson. She takes the hus hright and early and arrives in time for a full day's w-oi-k. VYe expect some day soon to see her teaching in the Homemaking de- partment ofa large school.

HELEN GLEASON Her mother and father hoth ministers. Helen Gleason seems to he following in their footsteps as she desires to he a medi- cal missionary. Her mother is alway- accompanied hy llelen on tours in the sum- mer. playing the piano and teaching in llihle school. lilue-eyed of medium lu-ight and with long curly hair, llclen is not hard to look ilt. ller rnetnher-allip in the llonor Society is not surprising as she is :studious and likes to read. NORMA GUSTAFSON Norma's many friends call her tiustie hut, as the saying goes A rose- hy any other name would smell as sweet. 'Tills- tie is a typical outdoor girl. having a line riding horse which she exercises every night. Her one indoor interest is cheinistry. NYheu in the lah. her experiments astounil all he- Ca'use so much apparatus is hrokeu in her work. but her nature is really not destruc- tive. She enjoys sports of all types. httt she is also an excellent homemaker. pre- ferring to cook or sew rather than to read. JEAN HANSON In the senior play this non-resident girl showed her Swedish descent. for it was she who so expertly handled the role of the maid who had not as yet learned the Enq- lish language perfectly. She gets excellent grades in her classes which she takes as preparation for a career as zr stenographer. Vl'e know that she will encounter no diffi- culty in securing and retaining a position as some-hody's sten0g. JULIENNE HOLMES llecause she is patient. helpful hright and hecause she makes friends and keeps them easily, this girl should make good in her chosen professiouf-nursing. liecause she is modest ahout her many accomplishments. she doesn't mind the fact that her writing is not as legihle as it should he. FLLSNVORTH JOHNSON XYith interests in Cowanda this fellow leaves his home town every week-end. His traveling expenses are taken care of hy a long paper route. A hrilliant radio enthus- iast. many of his free evenings are spent in ,l.H.S,, tinkering with that machine. He studies all things physical. chemical or mathmatical, so you can see what fields are best suited to him. BETTY LAMB Betty l.amli is one of those patriotic gals who writes to the fellows in the service. She's fond oi popular music, too. ller fu- ture is quite undecided. as yet, hut, comes the end of the war. and the ltoys are hack home again. fate won't need to takca hand! MARY l.AW'RliNClf To anger hllsi Lawrence is practically im- possilile lieca-use of her cheery disposition and dignified sophistication. Always smil- ing. she pleases all who meet her. ller in- terests are many. ranging from swinnning or riding a hicycle to singing or playing a fiddle. flood marks in her suhjects and her abilities and interests will surely enable her to attain what she pursues. .ws A. '90 2 'OS 'br STANLEY GROVES Stan's ideas seem endless. as do his abil- ities, His walks from Jamestown in the wee hours of the morning must serve :rs good training. for Stan took First place in the ltllt-yard dash at the l94Z Southwestern t'onfercnce. The sarcastic. nonchalant Theo Arhuckle was well characterized hy Stan in the Senior play. for Stan himself possesses these lfltlts, Ile has heen inducted into the Air t'orps and plans to enter mtive service after graduation. LAURENCE HALF l,as , that curly haired lilonde, is very well liked hy everyone he meets hecause of his excellent ahility to make and keep friends. .X very competent sports editor of the Fal- con. he later in the year. took a position as sports writer for the Post-Journal. ln this. his. chosen profession, we are sure that he will succeed. MYRA JEANNE HITCHINER ,X handy person around the house. Rlyra also has many outside interests. such as acting. dancing. theatre-going. She is a' good housekeeper and her friends say. an excellent cook. lleing rather tall. sports interest her. hoth from the standpoint of a participant and an Onlooker. Her pleasing personality along with her ahilities and knack of hotnemzrking, will give this girl her share of happiness. BARBARA JOHNSON The ready grin tha't is always on Bar- hara's face is a welcome sight to all who see her. llarhara seems to always he hav- ing a ditficult time with her studies hut when it comes regents day, she always man- ages to get hy :md not just by the skin of her teeth either. DOROTHA JOHNSON llorotha Johnson is an artist and hecause of her love of heauty. her art work is su- perior, She paints everything with dexter- ity unimaginahle and all with the same ease. Ilecause of her quickness to arltntt it if she's w rong, and hecause of her eagerness to cheer an ahused friend. we say that a truer companion cannot he found.
