CLASS HI TCRY September 28, 1960 found us, the second grad- uating class of F. S. T., entering through a door that opened into an entirely different realm for us. As we entered, some a little hesitant at first, we realized that without a doubt we had taken our first step toward the great commission God had placed upon our lives. As classes began, how the students enjoyed the presence of God and the moving of the Holy Spirit as we were taught the truths from Godis Word by those who were dedicated to their call- ing. Outside ministry proved to be a great bless- ing as various students ministered in churches thiroughout New England, New York and Can- a a. Two weeks before our Christmas vacation We were privileged to have Bro. Lloyd Sparks with us at Faith Tabernacle for special services. How we enjoyed his anointed ministry! As We entered the second semester two days were given to prayer for our spiritual needs and the needs of the school. Our lives were en- riched as we saw God move in miraculous ways. Our first year ended with a grand three-day convention. Several ministers took part in the convention among whom was Bro. O. C. McCane, who proved to be a great blessing to us. With tears in our eyes we reluctantly said good-by to fellow-students, teachers and workers as we went our various ways for summer vacation. When we entered our second year we were small in number but filled with zeal and a de- termination to continue on to fulfill the call God had placed on our lives. The Welcome Rally proved to be a time of blessing as we met together again for another school year. Instructors Cynthia Carmichael, Mil- dred Hicks, Marcelene Pier, Norma Bickford and Raymond Brooks joined the teaching staff, and the students were greatly inspired by their de- votedness to God and His call. It was miraculous to see God move in various ways in providing the needs for the school. Thousands of dollars came in, along with tons of potatoes, vegetables, meat and various other foodstuffs. We wish to thank all who were faith- ful in giving. Your participation in this great pro- gram will not go unrewarded. As the year con- tinued on much time was given to prayer, study and preparation for the field that lies before us. We counted it a great privilege to entertain the Senior Class at the first banquet at F. S. T. We shall never forget the grand times we had formu- lating the plans of that great event. On May 18th at 6:00 P. M., we received the fruit of our labors as we watched each member of the graduating class step through the arch encircled with the words Called Prophets, Compelled by Compas- sionf' After the meal, which was deliciously pre- pared by Sisters Jennie Pettingale and Ruth Mitchell, each member of the graduating class gave a brief testimony. God ministered to several by His Spirit with encouraging words. Bro. Pieris stirring words as he addressed the student body will long be remembered by all. May 30, 1962, will always be a memorable day in our hearts as friends and relatives gather- ed for the first graduation at F. S. T. The Salva- tion Army Tabernacle, where the exercises were held, was nearly fied to capacity, Brother Wil- liam Wilson was the speaker. Directly after the program a wedding took place at Faith Taber- nacle uniting Nilda Marty and james Pettingale in marriage. As we said our good-bys to the graduates our hearts were heavy at the thought of parting, yet joyful, knowing that many souls would be won to the Kingdom by those who were Called Prophets, Compelled by Compassionf' On September 29, 1962, the Senior Class met again for their final year at F. S. T. New faces, new studies and new horizons lay before us challenging us to prepare for the field that we were about ready to enter. At the VVelcome Rally, geetings were extended to all our classmates and incoming students. In- structors Emilie Barney, Marion Hackett, Roy Jensen, Robert Churchill and Robert Cogan were welcomed to the teaching staff. As classes began, we could sense the presence of God hovering over us in a special way and we were made aware of the fact that we must re- deem the timef' During the summer a new addi- tion had been added to the main building, mak- ing room for the incoming students. As we look back over the past two years we are reminded of the tremendous changes that have taken place in the physical structure at F. S. T. God has cer- tainly proven Himself in our behalf. As we step through the portals of F. S. T., onto the threshold of a new dawn we are reminded of the words of our motto Bread for the Hungryf, We will ever be grateful for the privilege of at- tending such a school, for it has been our experi- ences and knowledge acquired here that have equipped us to properly present the Bread of Lifei' to a lost and dying world. 26 4
