PRESIDE T AND if ., F GUN DER BREAD FOR THE HUNGRY Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abirleth alone, but if it die, it bringetli forth much fruitf, Iohn 12:24 Hunger is the slayer of millions in our present modern world. This is difficult to realize While living in the land of prosperity. Hunger is the basic desire of the physical. There is, however, another hunger. It is that insatiable desire for something that never comes until jesus the Saviour fills the life. The greater part of the world is Without Christ and therefore starving for the something that can satisfy. You have chosen to be the answer for these hungry masses. I pray that you may comprehend more fully as the days pass the profound meaning of this scripture and motto. It is necessary to have a harvest if we would feed the hungry. The verse you have chosen explains the process leading to harvest. A grain that exists by itself and for itself can never see a harvest. This world abounds with selfish individuals whose lives are lived for material gain. 'What do I get out of it?', is a common expression. Wars are waged, people are robbed, blood is spilled and churches split by men who love themselves. Your greatest problems in Christian ministry will come through those who live for self. Jesus declared that to lose was to gain. The kernel must give up its life to gain a harvest of life. This is truth that will make your ministry more than mediocre. By holding you lose, by giving you gain. If you will be bread for the hungry then you must lose your life in Christian ministry. Our World has been changed by men who lost themselves in their inventions, art, music, etc. This last genera- tion needs to be changed by men who will lose themselves in dedicated ministry for the hungry of soul. Class of 1963, accept the challenge of your motto. Let your life be lost as a grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, vou will receive that life again in a rich harvest at His coming. Be broken bread for the hungry. They need you, for without bread they will die. Yours for the harvest, Russell K. Pier 8

R CLASS ADV QV' ' UR It is hard to realize that nearly three years have passed since the evening the word came that I had been chosen as your class advisor. It Was, with a prayer for Divine guidance and understanding that the responsibility was accepted. Over the years our hearts have been knit together in one common purpose - to fulfill the will and plan of God for each individual life, and to make the Class of 1963 a glory to God and to F. S. T. After the first year, some turned aside until only twelve were left. Even as jesus questioned the disciples, 'KWill ye also go avvay?,' our hearts questioned, 'KWill they also goffw How We rejoiced as We saw you take your places to fill up the gaps in the ranks. It was not with discouragement but with great victory that you pressed on. If I were to choose one characteristic to typify the Class of 1953 I would say, In one accord We have thanked God as We have seen you standing together in unity and lovef' You have left a mark upon F. S. T. and have shown that God is not looking for great numbers but great consecration. We shall never forget the times of prayer when no problem was too great or too small to be taken together before God. Prayer and faith in the greatness of your God have brought results that could come in no other Way. WVe have seen you grow spiritually and develop into men and women trained by the Holy Spirit and used of Him. You are going out into a needy World with an experience that has already proved that with Cod all things are possible. Class of 1963, the world Waits for you. Go in the same earnestness and con- secration that you have shown here. Bring them the Bread of Life' that has fed and nourished you. Even as Jesus said to His disciples, I say to you, Give ye them to eat. Sister Elva Valerius 7
