Seawdt flcwmp ' The 1966-67 girls basketball team completes a record of 21 won and 8 lost. They won 3 tournaments champion- ships. The Fairview Invitational, the Williamson County, and the 22nd District. This fine record is made possible by their willingness to put forth every possible effort. That type of desire brings victories. The girls this year played with such hustle, such determination, such fight that they were champions even in defeat. One of the marks of a champion is the ability to be defeated and to learn that the failure is not the end of the work but the opportunity to learn and to stand again. Each of the eleven girls contributed so very much to the team. We were glad for all of them. All of them showed feeling, loyalty and teamwork. This was a year of individual awards as well as team awards. Diane Jenkins, Geraldine Jones, Velma Ivey, Marsha Thompson, and Gail Stinson received numerous county awards. Diane Jenkins, Marsha Thompson, and Gail Stinson re- ceived 22nd district awards. Diane Jenkins was selected for the Region 6 Team. Diane Jenkins, in finishing her basketball career set a game record of 43 points, a season record of 748 points and a career record of 2137 points. Next year's team and next year's individual have real goals to strive for. They believe they can do it. Marsha Hughes and Glenna Watts are getting ready to grab the rebound after the foul shot.
