NEWLY ORGANIZED SWING CHOIR JOINS CHORUS The chorus had quite a full schedule this year. Officers were: President - Jane Switzer, Vice President - Ken Losey, and Publicity Chairman - Ann Wilhelm. Fairview Follies, ” our own original production, was the chorus's first main project in the fall. Afterwards, everyone practiced for a Thanksgiving assembly and our Christmas Concert. After vacation, many members prepared for solo and ensemble contest at BGSU. One of our own ensembles, the Swing Choir, made its first appearance this year. All 24 members sang for gatherings such as the Methodist Churchmen's Banquet, Christmas Services, Williams Center mother and daughter banquet, and the Mark Center Alumni Banquet, along with contest and concerts. District competition was held at Maumee this year, where the Mixed Chorus and the Girl's Glee received superior ratings and advanced to state competition at Bowling Green in April. The Boy's Chorus also received an excellent rating at con¬ test. Immediately after state contest, the entire chorus sang at the Presbyterian Church in Bryan for Sunday morning services. The presentation was broadcast over WBNO in Bryan. The Chorus finished their year's activities with an exciting spring concert in May. Their final appearance was at com¬ mencement on May 26.
