Varsity Base Best Year Ever The varsity baseball team finished the season with a 14-11 record. They were 4-3 in the Green Mead¬ ows Conference for a fourth-place finish. The four¬ teen victories was the most ever for a Fairview base¬ ball team during a spring season. Paul Brinck was the leading hitter with a . 350 bat¬ ting average . Tom Vance was second at . 309 . They were followed by Tom Thatcher and Rick Winright at .297 and .293, respectively. The team batting average was .241. Rolland Wolfmm was the top pitcher with a 5-2 record. Larry Schulz was next with a 4-3 mark. Paul Brinck and Kevin Apple both broke even with a 3-3 and 2-2 records, respectively. Wolfrum had the low¬ est earned run average at 1.54. Joe Jerger at bat.
