Frosh — 2nd in G M C Tourney The Fairview Frosh had a good season. They went to the GMC Tournament with a record of 6-5. They defeated Hicksville 45-32 and Antwerp 47-37. They lost a heartbreaker to Wayne Trace 42-33. This left their record 8-6 for the season and the team with the GMC runner-up trophy. The three top scorers for Fairview were: Ken Karnes with 140 points; Larry Schultz, 131 points; and Randy Jerger, 91 points. BACK ROW: Jeff Sell, Dave Rieke, Bob Culler, Ed Brown, Rick Wright and Coach Rupp. Missing is Jim Dell. r e s t I Young. . . but Determined What this year ' s wrestling team lacked in experience was more than made up for by the young grapplers desire and determina¬ tion. The varsity team consisted of: 3 freshmen, 5 sophomores, 1 junior and 3 seniors. The team improved almost daily after losing its first match and ended the season with a 6-4 record. Among the teams other accomplishments were winning the Fv invitational tournament and placing 4th at sectionals. The team will miss the 4 fine senior wrestlers, but with sev¬ eral young experienced wrestlers back next year the team should be a potential threat to every team in the area.
