The Apache Reserve basketball team had a very successful season. Al¬ though we lost 6 games, we never lost by more than 8 points. The reason for this was because the players were always playing the best they could and never gave up. Al l the players on the team deserve credit for making this season successful. The top scorers were Tom Vance with 199 points for a 11.1 point per game average. Mark Rhodes had 180 points for a 10. 0 average while Joe Jerger had 170 points for a 9. 4 per game average. Larry Winright pulled down a total of 138 rebounds for an average of 7. 7 rebounds per game. Coach Mohr observing his material. Frosh — 2nd in G M C Tourney The Fairview Frosh had a good season. They went to the GMC Tournament with a record of 6-5. They defeated Hicksville 45-32 and Antwerp 47-37. They lost a heartbreaker to Wayne Trace 42-33. This left their record 8-6 for the season and the team with the GMC runner-up trophy. The three top scorers for Fairview were: Ken Karnes with 140 points; Larry Schultz, 131 points; and Randy Jerger, 91 points.
