Cupp, L. Miller, E. Helemn. Fun-Filled Year On September 18, 1972, the Fairview Chapter of the Future Home¬ makers of America formally began their new year. At a pot luck dinner thirty new members were inducted and initiated. At this meet¬ ing Ruth Klinger, state vice-president of the region spoke about her trip to the National Convention in California The annual subregional meeting was held this year at FV with Ruth Klinger presiding. At this meeting many of the Chapter members par¬ ticipated to make the meeting a success. Eva Seibert represented the chapter in the regional Miss Ohio FHA contest. October brought along a pumpkin carving contest. Out of more than forty contestants six girls were awarded prizes. Other activities planned during the year were: selling Tom Watt kits, soliciting for CROP, sponsoring the Sweetheart Hop, creating a Fairbooth, holding Daddy-Date night, and an overnight trip to Greenfield Village. During April, many girls traveled to Columbus to take part in the State Convention. Vicki Schindler, was honored for creating the stage drop, Janet Rieke, Karol Rosebrock, Ruth Klinger, and Eva Seibert received their State Degrees, and Pam Johnson represented the chapter in the Award of Merit ceremony. Voting delegates were Kathy Rogers, Patsy Bashor, Deb Calvin, and Ruth Willitzer. A total of fourteen students participated in the convention. At the May meet¬ ing the new officers were initiated and eighteen girls received their Junior degrees. Six other girls received their chapter degrees.
