I remember, very well, the events of the school year '71 -'72. I've kept these memories pushed back in a special corner of my mind So that 1 can take a look at them every once in a while To laugh, to cry, and then again to smile. I look back at the time when I never thought I'd come this far. Yesterday Fairview, tomorrow, the moon or perhaps some star. But no matter where my journey ends Or how far away the road to success or failure extends I'll be reminded of my school days constantly. For I was part of Fairview High and it was part of me. It's iniation time! 4 What did they put in the broth? 5 Test Results? Try to realize its all within yourself; No one else can make you change; And life flows on within you and without you. When you've seen beyond yourself - then, you may find peace of mind is waiting there . . . Togetherness Time what is amazing about it is it’s simplicity so complete in its cause to change, yet undemanding in measure of its ease, there is something NEW in all that time brings. 10 Assembly - Mason and Young, Englishmen, entertain Fairview students. Anxious Seniors await THE moment. The 3000 mile walk. TEARS, FEARS, and FEELING PROUD THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1972 Bruce Berenyi receives his diploma SPEAKER: Senator Oliver Ocasek Vp V ■M If you can't;!be a bush be a bit of the grass, Some highway happier make'j If you can't be a muskie than just be a bass But be the liveliest bass in the lake. We can't all be captains we've got to be crew There’s something for all of us here There's big work to do and there's lesser to do And the task we must do is near. Due to a heavy schedule of events the class was only able to stage the play one night. The members were proud to know that all compliments would be directed to them, per sonally, because the show was exactly what they made it. GREAT! On these two pages you’ll see how Fairview's talented photographers captured everything from the candid shots in the dressing room to the grand FINALE. The group practiced every night for one week and sur¬ prisingly enough managed to allow Mr. Edwards to retain his sanity through the whole ordeal. To be a senior is to be a rare breed of animal that is independant, stubborn, robust, creative, dramatic and sometimes inconsistent. To be a senior at Fairview is to be prepared to meet the open future with the training that the contained world of high school has offered. It is to eventually come to grips with the very real pre¬ sence of difficulty, as well as accomplishment, and to be physically and morally prepared to meet it head-on. The success of a year is measured in involvment. To be a senior is to be real. And that's what keeps a heart young. Either a col¬ lege oriented course of study or a general, vocational one had to be followed. Now, however, vocational training in a particular field is offered. Because of this, the 28 students at¬ tending the J. V. S. from our school have a much better chance of getting and keeping a job than does the drop¬ out or regular high school graduate. By taking a specialized course in high school, these students have a good chance of meeting the challenge of a world full of specialization. The following are some of the courses F. H. Perhaps it'll be decorating for the prom, swearing under my breath ’cause I missed a pass, getting my class ring, or maybe an extra-special Homecoming. But whether it's all or none of these activities, I know that this year will stand out as the one which I realize that personalities had depth and dimension and that me entire world is friends. I knew I should have used scope this morning. 55 President - Jim Kimple Vice President - Ed Brown Sec.-Treas. - Carol Potter Bill Boger Margaret Bok Raymond Bok Theresa Bok Ronald Boyd P Christine Breckler Barbara Britton Edward Brown Wayne Carlin Julie Chamberlain Rusty Chamberlain Yvonne Chamberlain Karen Corressell Craig Crawford Tim Cupp Sherry Daugherty Carol Davis Debra Dix Bryan Drake Terry Dubree Daniel Ainsworth Belinda Allen Betty Ames Robert A rend Julie Baden Pat Bailey Jayne Baker Steve Beardsley Mike Black Randy Black 56 Deb Edwards Todd Forrest Duard Foust Wendy Foust Wendy Gambler Beverly Gaston Eva Gilliam Bill Grant Rick Grimes Gay Grinnell Greg Guilford Kathy Guilford Mick Hall Carol Hardy Joe Hash Deb Havens Dan Haver David Highland Dawn Hissong Michelle Hoeffel Terry Hohenberger Cindy Hosier David Jacob Joe Jerger James Kim pie Todd Koch Dinah Kretzer Joe Kroeckel Barbara Kuhn Debra Mansfield Wanda Mast David Myers Lynette Miller Richard Miller Brenda Morton Cheryl Nisley Myla Johns Pam Johnson Lou Justing er Theresa Karacson Beth Karns Doug Keesbury 57 SOPHOMORES HAVE THE WILL TO SUCCEED Dewayne Olds Tim Pendleton Van Pendleton Deb Peter Diana Pollard Carol Potter Steve Pritchard Bennie Reagle Barbara Rensberger Got a locker full eh Tim!
