DRAMA TICS You Can’t Take It With You and Erasmus - With Freckles were the production staged by the Fairview Drama Class during the 1970-71 school year. Both of the plays were comedies. Three or four students carried the major parts: Bruce Heater, Darlene Caryer, John Jacob, Connie Haver, and Pat Wheeler. But the success of both productions grew out of a spirit of cooperation and hard work by the individual members of the class. Plays are as good as the combined efforts of the whole, and the manner in which the audience received the plays indicates the class effort was not in vain. The first half .of the year was engaged in the usual re¬ organization and training period but after December the chorus found themselves in high gear. There were 97 mem¬ bers involved in District 1 Solo and Ensemble Contest at Bowling Green, finishing with a total of 59 State medals. In March, 95 members went to the larger group District 1 competition and came home with the first Superior rating in the history of Central Local and Fairview High School which entitled them to go on to State Competition. The next few weeks were hectic with the musical practice of Calamity Jane and preparing for State. April 24th was the big day - State competition at Clyde, Ohio. The results of that day are now history - with 3 straight ones. The State Plaque is proudly displayed in the Fairview High School trophy case. It was a rewarding year for the chorus and a long sought- after goal for the director June Schulte. 70 SOPHOMORE BOYS’ ENSEMBLE: KNEELING: D. Foust. L. to R., STANDING: S. Jerger, T. Hubbard, K.
