FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA In September the year was started off with a potluck dinner and initation of fourteen new members. Projects for the year included selling Tom Watt Kits, Christmas greens, and collecting plastic bags for Quades Handicap Workshop. In Feb. the Sweetheart Hop was held and a red rose was given to twelve girls whose names were drawn at random. The FHA Convention was held at Columbus in April. At the Con¬ vention Jody Crites, Cheryl Davis, and Bonnie McClure, received State Homemaking Degrees. Also that weekend Ruth Klinger sang with the State Chorus, Eva Seibert was candidate for a State Office, Karol Rosebrock was on the evaluation team, and Margaret Mathes accepted the Award of Merit for the Chapter. FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA To start the year off of the Future Farmers of America Mr. Kleck and his wife, Tom Pendleton, Rog Ford, Denny Smith, and Mike Rolf, attended the National FFA Convention held in Kansas City, Missouri. Many members this year also took a trip to Columbus to the Farm Science Review. Many ideas to better farming were shown. The FFA also participated in many contests this year. In December the Parlia¬ mentary Procedure Contests were held at Holgate. The senior division received a gold rating. At Spring evaluation the FFA received a Superior Chapter rating. The Secretary and Treasure books and Reporters Scrapbook received silver awards. Tim Pendleton participated in the FFA Creed Contest, and received a Gold rating. Tim was also chosen to sing in the State FFA Chorus. Ray Keesbury, Mike Bussing, and Don Stevenson represented the Fairview Chapter at the District Land Judging Con¬ test, The Chapter also participated in the District and State Judging Contest. In March, the annual FFA Banquet was held and a chicken dinner was served. At the banquet the new officers were installed, and awards were presented, including those of Mr. Jones and Mr. Breisinger who recieved honorary membership. FFA QUEENS: Donna Rieke ROW 1: M. Koch, C.
