The Varsity Club through public service projects; such as its clean-up day and aiding WOWO penny pitch, attempts to associate the benefits of athletics to the community. This year the club has participated in the WOWO penny pitch, sold mums, sold FV badges, and participated in a clean¬ up day. Next year the plans call for expanded fund raising projects which it is hoped will enable the club to initiate new worthwhile projects. SITTING: J. Guildford, A. Shininger, B. Berenyi, D. Doeden, C. FUTURE TEA CHERS OF AMERICA This year under the capable leadership of Mr. Mountz, advisor, and Bruce Heater, President, the FTA made enough money to help the community by selling badges during football season, and ribbons during basketball season. For the school they gave Mrs. Johns $50.00 which she supplemented with book dividends to pur¬ chase $100.00 worth of books for the library. For the community they purchased a campership for Gail Manisfield so she could attend Camp Little Indian, a summer camp for retarded children. The FTA also helped at the Science Fair at Ney. They typed and distributed awards to contestants. In April the FTA spent an afternoon on a state project for Mr. Jones. 54

Besides weekly Tuesday night meetings there were volleyball, basket¬ ball, and track teams. Under the supervision of the Seniors and the encouragement of the upperclass¬ men, the Frosh went through a blazing initiation the thirteenth of October. The point system was revised so that it was possible for a girl to receive more then one award. The Junior award was revised by the officers to a Gaa Pin. Gaa events for the year were the Christmas party, a roller skating party, slave month, plus a trash pick-up contest against the Varsity Club, and two co-ed track meets. FRESHMEN ROW 1: D. Peters, G.
