Pendleton, 3rd ROW: Coach Doug Rupp, G. Sheets, J. Dell, R. Losey, T. Petrone, T. Keeterle, and M. Guilford, SENIORS LEAD THE WAY Our determined fighting Apache Wrestlers had a great 11-1 season. It was four seniors who sparked the way, in both enthusi¬ asm and in scoring. Bob Suffel, Paul Baerlin, Pat Stuckey, and Tony Petrone were all undefeated going into the last match of the season with Defiance. Pat Stuckey was the only grappler to overcome the Bulldogs’ ferocious bite and finish the season un¬ defeated with a 14-0 record. All four seniors won gold medals at Napoleon’s annual gold medal tournament. These four seniors also contributed 176 of the team’s 493 total points. Bob Suffel came closer to the state tournament than any other previous Fairview wrestler. Bob was beaten in an overtime by a referee’s decision. The Apaches started the season rather slowly, but came on strong in their last 6 games. They were three and three in league play defeating Paulding, Ayersville, and Holgate.
