SUPERINTENDENT HEAP BIG POW-WOW IN THE CHIEF’S WIGWAM! Mr. Breisinger, Mrs. Schulte, Supt. Darrell Jones (Chief), and Alice Sims. Concern and sincerity have helped Mr. Darrell Jones succeed in accomplishing his goals for the Central Local School District. Consulting with the Board of Education on ever-present problems, offer¬ ing aid and advice to students, and taking pride in school activities are fitted into his active schedule. Perplexed students feel welcome in Mr. Jones’s office as he explains the curriculum and discusses school policies freely. Mr. Jones also demonstrates the, fine Apache spirit in our community which makes us very proud to have him as Superintendent. The students of FHS gratefully acknowledge the unselfish time and effort Mr. Jones has given to make our school a success. Mr. Smith, otherwise known as Central Local’s “Dear Abby,” serves coffee to his No. 1 speech topic, Mr. Jones. 6

DEDICATED TEACHERS warn Mrs. Sander was born in Meron, Indiana, where her parents were both college professors. After graduation from the eighth grade, she moved to Albany, Missouri, where she graduated from high school and attended col¬ lege. Her final year of college was completed at De¬ fiance College. Mrs. Sander says education” has been our way of life. She went on to state: It has been a most reward¬ ing career and if the time comes when I’ll live in the past, then I’ll have a future to enjoy. Many have asked if I intend to travel now and do all the things I wanted to do but didn’t have the time to do. My answer - we’ve always traveled and I’ve always done all the things I wanted to do - paint, handcrafts, worked in the church and community, so I intend to go right on living a full life, but probably not by the clock. I never dreaded a day of school, and this has been possible because of my work with a fine administration and a fine group of teachers. This would not be complete unless I also gave credit to youth, and the majority of them have earned my respect and admiration. I’m most pleased that I chose teaching as my career.” Mr. Jones’ statements relative to Mr. and Mrs. Sander were: Our school system has been better because of the many contributions Mr. and Mrs. Sander have made to it. They have been loyal dedicated teachers with a sincere interest in the welfare of our students. At no time have they placed their personal welfare ahead of the school system. They are fine people and both can feel their jobs have been well done.” 5

PRINCIPAL Now let me think here a minute. Mr. Breisinger, with his outstanding qualities of congeniality, willing cooperation and interest, is able to accomplish the complex task of coordinating the diversified units which make up Fairview High School. As the edu¬ cational head of learning institution, the prin¬ cipal must supervise the instructional program and work with groups such as the Music and Athletic Boosters. He demonstrates the Apache spirit as a representative of the administration at school events. With his continually reaf¬ firmed interest in students and his “tell it like is” attitude, Mr. Robert W. Breisinger measures up to the demand of the principal job. ' Oh, happy day! 7
