li? The Bulldogs completed a sound season with numerous indi- viduals playing the kind of foot- ball many colleges desire. Five Bulldogs received full scholar- ships to various colleges and uni- versities throughout the Midwest and South. Blair Brown, Don Grimes and Lonnie Harris made first team All City, Nelson Moore and Mike Scarpelli were voted onto the second team and three more seniors received Hon- orable Mentions fCraig Bacher, Norman Shearer, Allan Ste- phensj. The Bulldogs also were aided by the play of Junior Ken- ley Starks who came off the bench when Quarterback Steve Edwards was injured early in the season. Starks was named Most Improved player of the '76-'77 season. Was the team's five wins and five losses reflective of the talent of the '76-'77 Bulldogs? Not according to Coach Winters, who pointed out that three of the five losses had one touchdown or less difference.

Cheerleaders Boost Spirit The performance of the cheer- leaders during football season reflected the hours of practice by the squads. Although these hours of work were difficult and tiring, they were also filled with enjoy- ment. After practicing throughout the summer, the Varsity and Reserve Squads were well prepared for the games which lay ahead. Led by Captain Sara Alford and Co- Capt. Gloria Roffe, the Varsity cheered the team on through rain, snow, and bitter cold. The dedication of each individual and the cooperation and friend- ship shared by each girl resulted in the squads being considered the best in the area . ,mpvvf-A t 5,
