Sophomore Class M1ss Folger Aduser Manager Edwm Hetzel Mayor Ben Kmg Commlssloners Ray D1d1er Merull Greely EVPFGU Ruff Wallace Tlbbals Colors QCRI let and L ray Q49 Sophomore Hlstory 9' N MID SEPTEMBER of nlneteen twenty one slxty two boys and glrls wended thelr way to Fa1rv1ew for the first tlme We formed two fifths of a school numbermg at that time one hundred fifty As Freshmen we started somethmg new 1n Falrvlew the commlsslon form of government for our class The oH1cers of the Freshman class were manager Charlotte Maeder mayor Edwln Hetzel commlsslonexs Ruth Rawson Ben Kmg Everett Ruff and Homer Albrlght We com pleted the year very successfully under the wlse dlrectlon of MISS Folger our popular class advlser The followmg year we were Sophomores and could lndulge 1n school sports wlthout feellng embarrassed And to thlnk that at last there was someone we could boss the Freshmen' We mmped mto a strlde that made even the upper classmen cast envlous eves at the gay and frollcsome class of 25 Takmg part 1n the sports we supplled one boy Ben Kmg and three glrls Ruth Rawson V1CtOFl3 Kammer and Bernadlne Slmmons to the school basket ball squads Ruth Rawson became manager of the glrls team whlle Ben Klng was chosen as Sophomore edltor of the Falrvlew News and was also elected presldent of the Phllomathean Llterary Soclety One sectlon of the Sophomore Engllsh class dramatlzed the Book of Esther starrmg Ruth Sham Ray Dldler W1ll1am Bloom and Leonard Wrlght MISS Armstrong the dlrector was congratulated upon the suc cess of the plav We had a few notable events m the numerous class partxes held durmg the year At the receptlon gn en to the Freshmen by our class the green 109 cream and cake were IH grave danger of bemg devoured by unwelcome wlsltors but were finally rescued Another event was the Chrlstmas party at MISS Folger s at whxch mud proved to be the ma1n cause of delay W had a splendld t1me but when we wlshed to go home It was lmposslble for the machmes were stuck fast IH the mud Consequently we remamed at MISS Folgers untll 2 00 A M almost rankmg thls affalr a slumber party After passmg safely through the first semester exams we began dreammg and wxshmg to become Semors We are stxll dreammg for we have yet two more years before us Two years and Father Tlme IS not mclmed to hasten durmg the school yeals BEN KING 2a 23 F f W 43 l '- ,l - p 4 I J ..
