Two New Directors Set High Goals For Yellow jacket High School Bands brought Joy to the World (at least to the fans) with arrangements of now sounds. Off to a good start, the marching unit was impressive at sev- eral half-time performances, managed a pep band at all away football games and home bas- ketball games, nailed down a top finish in the State Fair Parade, and received Excellent ra- tings at the District Marching Contest at Alva in Oct. Separate contest groups represented the school at the various festivals throughout the year. From hot August marching practices (com- plete with calisthenics) through cold weather sight-reading drills, the band improved and set its sights high for next year.
