FFA Judging Teams Place 1st In Livestock, 2nd In Meat, 3rd In Shop At Alva During the year, the FFA teams and individuals won many honors from all parts of the state. Trav- eling to such far-away places as the Tulsa State Fair, Goodwell Judging contest, and Ft. Worth, the FFA proved to be one of the top chapters in the state. The chapter also displayed themselves success- fully in many local and county events. Besides the work and pressure of the judging contests, fairs, and stock shows, the FFA participated in many other activities including the FHA-FFA Halloween party and serving at the FHA Sweetheart Banquet. At the FFA Banquet in the spring, the awards were handed out to members and the queen was crowned. Money making projects included work day, magazine sales, and a pancake supper. Don Edwards receives his 1st place ribbon from Mr, Tripp at the fair. BEST OF THE FAIR was Ron Martin's steer, showed by the Fairview FFA Chapter while Ron was hospitalized from an FFA fieldtrip accident. 18
