1970 JACKET Fairview High School Fairview, Oklahoma The Year of Doors Doors open Doors close. At Fairview High School doors unlimited are open to those who desire, deserve and dedicate themselves to the task at hand. Doors of scholarship, leadership, and friendship are here for all to open and enter. In 1969-70 science has opened the doors to outer space. Education has advanced, giving to us wider op- portunities , while knowledge in the field of medicine has increased (making this the year of casts and crutches for F.H.S.) During the course of the 1970 school year, the students of F.H.S. have faced all of these doors. It was our re- sponsibility to choose the doors we would open. Now that the school year is at its end we, the mem- bers of the Jacket staff, would like to present a second look at the past year - a lasting look at all that was rele- vant to the students of F.H.S. in 1970 - the Year of Doors. Chemistry students experiment with goggles and gases. Donna and Marilyn give Student Demonstration in Home Ec. III. Office Practice Class visits Waldon's. Seniors “When one door is shut, another opens” Cervantes The seniors entered school with an inquisitive nature and a definite thirst for knowledge. Through the years we have grown together, both physically and mentally. In growing we have formed a unit, a tightly-knit group. This group does not accept what others have done as right. We set our own goals and dreams, and due to this, our achievements are our own, no one else's. The seniors entered the year with an air of authority, intent on making this final year the finest FHS has experienced. We leave behind us many memories and a glimpse of what Sen- ior life should be. The seniors have ended one phase of life but will begin a new one, a step forward to a brighter, new tomorrow.
