1969 Yellow jacket Fairview High School Fairview, Oklahoma i Commemoration of Our 75th Contents Administration. Classes ........ Activities...... Royalty......... Sports.......... Year — a Reflection This is Fairview High School, part of the community that has grown and developed for 75 years. From the moment we enter FHS, our thoughts are directed toward the future, a future built by the rich heritage of the past. We set our goals higher and higher, creating new strength in mind and body, gaining new confidence and new knowledge until suddenly we realize we are part of the nation’s intricate pattern of progress. This year- book is a reflection of those 75 years of growth, growth that is the promise of the future. In Our 4 Mr. Rippetoe explains a proof, 75th Year . . . Seniors enjoy Santa Claus at the Christmas party. The half-time coronation climaxed Homecoming festivities. Queen candidates Derinda Elder, Debbie Mackey, and Darla Kehn arrive for the half-time activities. THE QUEEN AND HER COURT: Derinda Elder and Dennis Bierig, Queen Darla Kehn and Kelly Wahl, Debbie Mackey and Paul Ratzlaff 7 Dedication American history, economics, psychology - The realm of Room 7 is for the imaginative, the curious, the persistent. All who enter that room are challenged to attain academic ex- cellence ... challenged to carry on the tra- ditions of FHS ... challenged to be involved in the community, the state, and the nation. The challenge is made by a man famous for his years of coaching, a member of the Track Hall of Fame, a man gifted in the instruction of the social sciences. To Mr. George Eubanks ... a word of appreciation. 8 Administration Fait view's first permanent school building was built on the site of today's grade school building in 1907. 9 Serving his first year as chief administrator, Harry Cavett has been instrumental in formulating pro- gressive policies and improvements. His knowledge of school administration and his handling of educa- tional affairs make him a most important addition to the school system. Performing the principal’s duties at the high school is Max Moyers. Well-versed in the problems of ad- ministration, Mr. Moyers is a key asset to the effi- ciency of the school. Superintendent and Board Make New Policies Responsible to the community for school affairs, the school administration has under- taken several progressive measures in the past year. Approving the formation of an area vocational-technical school district, the school board has created an atmosphere in Major County favorable to industrial de- velopment. 10 Serving the school and community are the 1969 school board members. FRONT ROW: George Keck, Jr., Vice-President: W. U. Gaylord, President; Edwin W, Kliewer, clerk. ROW 2: Alden Glasgow, Harry Cavett, Superintendent; Don Elwell. Mr. Bruce Darns served as grade school principal until his death December 20. Continually aware of changing trends and ideas in education, Mr. Darns incorporated these changes for the advance- ment of education at the grade school facilities. His keen insight into educational administration and his dynamic personality will be missed by the school system and the public. II Faculty Promotes All MR. GARLAND TAYLOR Agriculture MR.
