The dedication of the an- nual has been a tradition for many years. It has been the pleasure of this year's Annual Staff and others of previous years to dedicate the annual to honored and de- serving members of the faculty. With these points clearly in mind, we feel we have made an excellent choice. To each of us the familiar, Clear the deck , or, If the shoe fits you, wear it , has become al- most essential to make school seem complete. Firmness, yet, patience, and understanding are among his finer traits. He has worked untiringly to help each and every member of the faculty as well as each member of the stud- ent body with their many problems. His leadership and personal guidance have become a challenge to all who associate with him . It is with great respect that we, the members of the Annual Staff, dedicate this yearbook of 1963 to Mr. Max K. Moyers. MR. MAX K. MOYERS Mr. Moyers is indeed one of the Yellowjackets avid This year Mr. Moyers participated with FHS students sports fans. in discussing school problems. 4

HI-LITES With the humidity and heat of late summer came the end to vaca- tions. The '63 Yellowjacket student body reluctantly exchanged swim- ming parties, suntans, an occasional class ring, and summer jobs for textbooks, band instruments, football shoes, and driving permits. Go! Fight! Win! , hotdogs, and late hours met the pep rallys, class, F-Club, and FFA parties which blew in on nippy autumn breezes. Fathers, Mothers, students, sweethearts and hopefuls shuffled through carpets of auburn, russet, and maize to attend football games, FFA meetings, Senior Play, Daddy Date Nite, and FHA meetings, while sleepyeyed band members boarded 6:00 A.M. buses for band trips. Homecoming always leaves favorite autumn memories of tears, happi- ness, dis-assembled floats and wilted mums. Brisk winter winds brought soft, dewy snowflakes, basketball games, sleigh rides, and parties, parties, parties. Cupid was at large during February when each FHA girl honored the man of her choice at the Sweetheart Banquet. The first shimmering buds of spring found.. . BOYS of all shapes and sizes doing cadence count to one, two, three, four; one, two, three, four, at the track field- JUNIORS being transformed into actors, actresses, stage managers, and business tycoons in preparation for their first production, the Junior Play, and working diligently on a theme and decorations for the banquet which they presented for the seniors-- SENIORS discussing their favorite topics: college placements, scholarships, announcements, and diplomas as they planned and eagerly awaited Sen- ior Skip Day, Class Night, Baccalaureate, and finally, Commencement. Memories and Hi-Lites from '62-'63 in FHS have found their places on bulletin boards, in scrapbooks, in students' hearts, and finally, with- in the covers of the '63 Yellowjacket. 3
