It has been the pleasure of this year’s Annual Staff and others of previous years to dedicate the annual to honored and deserving members of the faculty. With these points in mind we feel that Mr. Harvey E. Reeg is an ex- excellent choice. After graduating from Carmen High School, he attended Northwestern State College where he received his B.S. degree. Through his friendly smile and court- eous attitude, he has won the admiration of everyone during his forty years of teaching. By teaching math- ematics and science in junior high school, he has greatly benefited all the students at Fairview High. With great respect we, the members of the Annual Staff, dedicate this yearbook of 1961 to Mr. Harvey E. Reeg. Important decisions are being made by the faculty of Fairview High. Leading the discussion is the Superintendent, C. 0. Lan- man. BOARD OF EDUCATION READY FOR WORK . . . Major decisions concern- ing school policies and improvements are being discussed by School Board members, Charles Slack, President; Udean Gaylord and Clyde Leonard, Members; Bob Graalman, Secretary; and Edwin Kliewer, Vice-President. The Board of Education works with our Superintendent and Principals in promoting a bigger and better school each year. MR. C. O. LANMAN Superintendent of Fairview Schools With 30 years of school experience and a Master of Education degree from Phillips University our Superintendent, Mr. C. O. Lan- man, has done a remarkable job in running Fairview High Schools for the past 9 years. Because of his cheerful attitude and under- standing authority, Mr. Lanman is well liked, respected, and appreciated by the entire stu- dent body and faculty. 4 Mr. JOE MADDOX Senior High Principal Mr. Joe Maddox demonstrated his admini- strative ability this past year in such a manner beneficial to the entire student body. His education was completed at Phillips University where he earned his Master of Education degree. Mr. MAX MOYERS Junior High Principal Handling the tasks of Junior High Principal is no easy job; however our community has been very fortunate in securing the capable Mr. Max Moyers, who has also received his Master of Education degree from Phillips University. Our custodians, Sol Bierig and Floyd Pharis, and their helper, Ray Koehn, are indispensible to Fairview High. Their days are filled with tasks which keep the halls in shining order. Delivering the students to and from school and keeping of our bus drivers, Jerry Metz, Herb Campbell, Lester the buses in good condition are just a few of the duties Carroll, Sol Bierig, Lowell Chamberlain, and Paul Cunn- ingham. 7 IN MEMORIAM 1944-1961 The fairest flower in the garden of creation Is a young mind, offering and unfolding itself To the influence of divine wisdom, as the Flower turns its sweet blossoms to the sun. Some of the highlights of this schedule are as follows: Reg- ional Marching Contest, Alva; Alva Homecoming Parade; Fair- view Homecoming Parade; Fair- view Christmas Parade; Wood- ward Christmas Parade; Six City Concert, Okeene; District Concert Contest, Alva; Annual Spring Concert; and Tri-State Musical Festival, Enid. PRIDE Through the eyes of a Fairview bands- man, you see the well composed figure of a great band director—Mr. Cliff Clark. They say first impressions are very imponant and we feel that these four beauties-Vivian Walton, Linda Fritch, Sherry Nichols, and Saundra Logsdon -could not have impressed spectators more as they led the band through its many parades and contests.
