GIRLS' AND Bovs' STATE A Mock Congress The people chosen to participate in Girls' and Boys' State must first fill out an application and be accepted before facing a panel of other members who question them. If they make it past this then they are a member of Girls' or Boys' State. Last year's participants were Skip Durazzo, Chris Gates, Mike Gould, and Jim Leffingwell. Girls' State participants were Michelle Grunz, Susan Larson, and Dana Smith. Chris Gates was elected as one of the two in Colo- rado to attend Boys' Nation. Sue Larson and Dana Smith Mike Gould Jim Leffingwell, Chris Gates, and Skip Durrazzo.

'ITS ACADEMIC' Battle Of The Brains This year the IT'S ACADEMIC team was organized and sponsored by Mrs. Ingrid Kassler. The members consisted of Steve Hemmerle, Peter Krane, Eric Meyer, Bob Schattke, and Rick Langer The team had to be able to answer questions on several different topics quickly and accurately. At Fairview's first bout at the KOA studio in Denver the team defeated Alameda and Regis High Schools. The men were then defeated by North in the second round of competition.
