CLASS HISTCDRY On the eighth day of September in the year of nineteen hundred and fifty two, B. G. Cbefore gradu- ationj took place an event unequalled since the doors of Fairview High first opened-the birth of the Class of '58! Ah, memories . . . but how quickly the years slip by. As freshmen this great class finds itself under the able direction of Pat Petrigan, president. Red and white are to be our colors, and we find all freshmen dubbed with, the unmistakable mark of a freshman -beanies! What a great Sophomore class we had with Paul Roberts as president. Now that we are one step nearer to being S. S. lsuperior seniorsl we find our- selves caught up in the whirl of senior high activities -dances, games, and assemblies. Soon Fairview's halls were brightened considerably by proud juniors wearing snappy red jackets and three shouting girls -JoAnn, Bev, and Judy. As juniors we planned a superb banquet for the ex-seniors, theme Mississippi Showboat. Boom . . . boom-l can hear the drums now-um goa bouanna-here come the Junior Ja- maicans. We put up a good fight at the junior-senior game, but the opposition proved too tough and we tasted defeat which only made us a little more humble, a trait for which this class is still respected!! Ring your bell for Karen L. - Bob's for the Job! Remember these slogans? Of course, the Student Council presidential election in which Bob Matia be- came president! We danced our way through a won- derful prom put on by the seniors and ended the year proudly wearing our class rings. G. D. fgraduation dayl is fast approaching and we find ourselves in a mad rush to prepare for it. Mac and Tom lead us through an exciting football season as co-captains. Class pictures are taken and hastily written as the year seems to fly on. JoAnn makes a lovely football queen accompanied by Penny and Jeanne, and Bev appears equally lovely as basketball queen accompanied by Judy and Gret- chen. The dances of the year are topped off with the Friendship Formal. The junior-senior game and ban- quet are thoroughly enjoyed by all. Now it's time to measure for caps and gowns, order announce- ments and flowers, and make all the necessary preparations for graduation. The spirit of '58 grows dim with graduation and finally the prom. Though dim, the spirit of '58 will live on in the hearts of all of us who have enjoyed these happy years together. Continuing. the spirit throughout the season were the junior girls who sponsored an escort system to help the team's spirits. The junior class also planned and gave a pep-rally. Arrangements for the junior rings were made in December and January. Their arrival was eagerly awaited and the juniors now proudly display them. The Junior Jivers did an excellent job on decorations for the annual Junior-Senior basketball game, and put up an equally good fight. Climaxing the year will be a Junior-Senior Banquet, picnic, and the prom. A. f 'Lf 0 The sophomore class of l958 contributed a great deal to their x2 school this year. They were seen in the productions of the Stage- crafters, Friendship Club, G.A.A., and Letterman's Club. ln sports they gave their full support to the football team by having a large number of boys on the squad, and in basketball two sophomores made the varsity team. Their class party was held in March with the theme of Hi Notes and everyone came as a song title. A semi-formal was held in May. ln the future this class will certainly have an outstanding record, if they continue as well as they have this year. W F god' Sopaonmi f if The freshman class has greatly enjoyed this school year, possibly more because of their new friends. They are beginning to appreciate the chance at participating in school activities. The Junior Stagecrafters have put on many plays in which many of the freshmen took part. The freshman football and basketball teams showed exceptional talent and teamwork, which will help our school -in future years. They held a class party and are planning a class picnic. The class shows inuch promise, and in the next years will take an active part in our school. z 1 X , WILLIE WARRICDR SAYS . . 9 Y With class po d d I I X ff x A 03 Eg fx Q 14 1' Q 4 fa ggx-ff ,wifernf Q19 gf QQ HCDMECOMI G l l This year our football team chose Jo Ann Nickerson as their queen, and Penny Pritchard and Jeanne Wyman as her attendants. Queen Jo Ann was crowned first at the football game and later at her homecoming dance, where she was presented with a trophy and white roses. The attendants re- ceived red roses, and the date of each football player received a single red rose. r 93. 9' J. 42 2.3 ' Z..:.:.. ,M oooosqss nw 6005. bsg:::oQoQQQ:ov Bono Qoooooq Qoobo 5QoQo:QooooQQ: .coolo bQQoooQnoooQQ:QQQoQQlQ oooonQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ 5 o ooauon o Q :Q Q ...:QQ:QQ QQQQQQ, . :::::::ooQo::5:::..'x:.QQ OOOOODDUQ.'fO0b4:::ClQzOOOC QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ. .
