The Fairview Warriors made Homecoming a booming success Friday, October 9, 1960, as they pulled the upset of the year edging the undefeated Plentywood team 15-12 on a snow and rain soaked field. A good homecoming crowd braved inclem- ent weather to see the most exciting game of the season and to see Plentywood dropped as the leaders of the conference. After losing two scoring opportunities due to fumbles, the Warriors scored first as a fast roughing line tackled a Wildcat back in the end zone for a safety, making the score 2-0. Plentywood came back With a long break- away run to score, but they failed to get the extra point. The score 6-2. In the second quarter, following another long run Plentywood scored again. At the half time the Warriors were down 12-2. In the second half, the recharged Warriors centrolled the game. In four plays the War- rlors made a touchdown and the score 12-8. In the fourth quarter, the Warriors made another touchdown and they were ahead to stay. In Winning the game 15-12 Fairview brought its record to 2-1-1 and moved into a second place tie.
