ROBERT ARTHAUD Elementary Principal Messages such as this usually contain advice to students as they leave high school. This is a message to all children in the grade school, including the eighth grade pupils who will graduate and go on to high school. As you grow older in learning and experience, you will come to see that there are several important things you should learn in school. .The facts you learn from your textbooks are important, but you also learn habits and skills. You not only learn how to read and write, but how to think, study, conduct meetings, make speeches, and discuss important topics. As you do these things, you learn how to get along with others, have respect for proper authority, and above all, respect for learning and know- ledge. When yougraduate from the eighth grade your education is not finished. Even after graduating from high school and college, you are just beginning to learn. Truly, education should go on all through your life. If you have learned to love learning while in school, then you have made the most of your schooling. ROBERT E. ARTHAUD Elementary Prin cz'pal 53
