DEDICATION The class of I944 has chosen this moment to express its appreciation for the kind attention and thoughtful endur- ance given to us by Mr. Nelson R. Burton during our four years in Fairport High School. When we were scatterbrained Freshmen he always met us with a kind word. Our Sopho- more year we began to sit up and take notice of our sur- roundings. Mr. Burton, always dependable, led, among other things, the boys' fraternity to overwhelming popu- larity. On the threshhold of our lunior year we were glad to be on Mr. Burton's side of the hall where we could see him more often. Now as Seniors, we have met him at his best. We are thrilled by his mastery of the English language and his understanding of each and every one of us. Mr. Burton, teacher, friend, and companion is our ideal. For these reasons and many more the Senior Class of I944 dedicates this book to you, Mr. Burton, in the eternal knowledge that your name shall be engraved on our hearts forever with kindness and appreciation.
