0 O Band 1 , 2 Football 1 JOHN CHARLES DALY q1939 - 1955, HE IS NOT DEAD I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just away. with a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand, He has wandered into an unknown land And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since he lingers there. And you--oh, you, who the wildest yearn For an old -time step, and the glad return, Think of him faring on, as dear In the love of There as the love of Here. Think of him still as the same. X3 'ix' 'Q X r '. J' I 1 0 lm x I jw QF' ss. Q 5 'X X43 i H . .X -- - Dear Harding: We, the graduating class of 1957, wish to thank you for giving us four of the most cherished possessions of our young lives - our four years of high school Our freshman year found us bursting at the seams with energy and as most of the teachers will admit, we used little of this on our studies. It was absorbed as well in athletics, music groups, and plain old horsing around. Our sophomore year came and we were a bit more dignified, for after all, we WERE in senior high school now and no longer children. This is the year double periods hit us and we do mean hit, Before we realized it, our junior year was upon us and things began to develop. Athletics, the class stand, class rings, and, the prom were the high- lights of the year. It was obvious too that we were growing up for many of us now began to think of careers to follow. We also began to take a more serious interest in our studies. Well, that takes us up to where we are now - graduating seniors. With mixed feelings of joy and sadness, we leave these dear old walls. We go to face the world but we will face it confidently for we know that we have had the best education possible. Harding, we thank you. Class of 1957 Written by John Henkel 9 2 6
