ass csfofz Greenies ' l ' Bright and early one September morning an l937 a g up o enthusnastuc youngsters wauted outsude of Room l4 for the arrival of theur home room teacher Mr Lynham What wuth walklng rnto wrong class rooms and feel :ng lost our first few days were qulte tough We however fxnally adapted ourselves to thus new mode of lufe known as hugh school Cf course we were all thrilled over our new class gym The year ended and we were no longer green es Not qulte so early and certaunly wnth not so much enthuslasm the new elghth graders entered Room 7 and submutted themselves to the domnnatlon of Mr Road We considered ourselves hot stuff for we had been graduated from thnrd to sec ond floor We had our quota of class partnes and the school year was pronounc ed successful Freshmen and back to the 3rd floor' Our stretch on the second floor was up and we were united with the graduates of St Anthonys school under the watchful eye of Mrs Farmer This was the year durlng which we were allowed to attend the school hops Our Sophomore year was the most boring term of our hagh school career The year crept to the end not wlth a bang but with a thud The flrst thang pounded unto our heads as we entered the west wang on floor I was that we the Junlors were going to work And work we dad A good Prom was our goal and for thus we needed funances We worked at football games we worked on our play we worked fperlod l The Talk of the Town our ploy was very success ful and the frunts of our labors at the games were well awarded lt was also dur ang thus year that Pearl Harbor was attack we re pronounced Sensors the tntle we had dreamed of for years was ours A few mlnutes before the warning bell you could see us trudg Ing up to take up our posltlons In the east wang of l-lardvng Hugh We took up our dull sublects wuth zest 17993 and began to work toward that hot sticky nnght In May known as Commencement On May 7 we put on our Sensor Class play an old fash zoned melodrama entrtled Pure As The Drnven Snow o A Working Glrl s Sec re Came May 30 and wtth a lump In our throats we attended Baccalaureate Ser vrces and on May 3l we attended Com mencernent exercnses for our last public appearance as Seniors We receuved our dnplomas and went forth ready to take our places ln the world . , A V .
