1963 qfmfzc qwaff Ed Hayes, football co-captain, Larry Barnes, varsity free-throw average, Jim Hamilton, most valuable back, Steve Smith, B-team free throw average, Tom Dunham, co-captain football, most valuable lineman. 3012 WAOGOG Y!-?ZUdZ 0f Jim Hamilton was the 1963 recipient of this coveted basketball award. WWW ,J W 'Y Xen 505110146 Fairmount lost a citizen and Fairmount High School lost a patron with the death of Xen Edwards in July of 1963. Mr. Edwards, proprietor of the Pioneer Drug Store for nearly sixty years, was a leader in com- munity improvement. Among his main interests were the high school and young people in general. A member of the Fairmount School Board for seventeen years, he did much to promote schools and education. His contributions will live after him as a memorial. cscgoof Gonsofkfzon These trustees and school board members initiated the Madison- Grant Metropolitan School District when they signed the consolidation resolution on October 10, 1963.
