Senror Class Hlstory Dear Drary Has rt actually b en four years srnce we started our Journey through Farrmount Hrgh on Septem ber 2 19472 Oh what a long road rt looked to us then' The senrors that year gave Us an rnrtratlon day to remember How they decorated u wrth shoe polrsh narl polrsh and lrpstrck and p rfumed u wrth lrmburger cheese' What torture we went through dear d1ary before we felt as rf we be longed rn Falrmount Hrgh Our frrst class party was a wrener roast more or 1 ss a get acquarnted socral gath rmg held at the Boy Scout camp The class offrcers were James Spahr Martha Jane Pulley Cora Lee Cle ment Pete B ck Patsy Brown and Janet Roth Travelrng on up the educatronal road we came to our sophomore year Thrs trme we chose Davrd Nall class presrdent Pete Beck vrce presr dent Bob Ro h secretary treasur r Janet Roth hrstorran Mrke Cosby and Delores Hu ton socral commrtteemen About the frrst thrng we drd wa to order our class sweaters rn Octob r We cho e red whrte and blue for our colors Weren t we patrrotrc dear drar-y We felt lrke rt anyway and proud too Also rn October of that year Vlartha Belle Lewrs was chosen to b our carnrval queen can drdate whrle those of us attendrng our skatrnff party on October 17 had lots of fun We were a peppy bunch' On February 7 we presented the plays Whrch Is the Way to Boston? The Ghost of a Show and a mrnstrel We sponsored a Sadre Hawkrns Dance 'Vlarch 4 and senror Elenora Trtus and Junror Roy Yater won prrzes for berng the best dressed Darsy Mae and L11 Abner Advancrng to our Junror year we found our group a lrttle more mature and workrng harder than ever to make money for our trlp Our class offrcers had changed some Davrd Nall was presr dent John Mrtchener vrce presrdent Donna Rrch secretary Janet Roth treasurer Martha Lewrs hrstorran Pete Beck and Delores Huston socral charrmen A combrned Junror Senror skatrng party September 19 started our years actrvrtres and rt proved to be a successful frnancral and socral event Delores Huston was our carnrval queen candr rate on October 14 and our class play Vleet Me rn St Lours was presented October 20 and 21 We certarnly had a good turn out Then a Krd Party was grven at the home of Patsy Brown No vember 20 Lollrpops and dolls made us feel young agarn Another grand day for us was December 12 wh n we recerved our class rrngs and prns We were so brreht and flashy dear d1ary that every one thought Santa had come to vrsrt us early On January 26 we sponsored a Western Dance rn the hrgh school gymnasrum All those cowboys mad us feel Cat least for one nrghtb that we were out West In the followrng month on February 21 we gave a box socral rn the gym Janet Roth and Davrd Nall wer selected from the class to attend Grrls and Boys State Jun 10 to 17 Werent they lucky dear d1ary Then to end another year we had the honor and prrvrleee of grvrng a prom banquet for the senrors The food was del ctable and after the banquet the dancers glrdlng o er the floor made a beautr ful prcture Then we were senrors dear d1ary advancrnff our last mrl of the way on h1,,h school I meanj It surely sounded wonderful to us and yet rt made us rather sad to say farewell to our old frrends pals and teachers rn F H S To get organrzed for the year our class elected for offrcers Davrd Nall presrdent Bud Cox vrce oresrdent Patsy Brown secretary Janet Roth treasurer Martha Belle Lewrs hrstorran Pete Beck and Phyllrs Florea socral charrmen Penny Suppers three Skatrng Partres a Sadre Hawkrns dance October 16 a Cowboy dance No vember 20 a Bunny Hop dance March 19 the senror play Harvey Aprrl 26 and 27 a barn dance Jamboree two food sales a paper drrve and to clrrnax our wonderful school career we were guests at a prom banquet May 5 grven by the Junror class Th senror class of 51 was organrzed rnto three commrttees wrth each actrvrty bexng sponsored by one commrttee Mr Donald Sollberger and 'VIrs Adelrne Nall Brookshrre were our farthful class sponsors all four years wrth Gurney Mat trngly asslstrne when we were sophomores Durrnff our last year the senror moth rs per formed as wonderful trojans for us along wrth members of the faculty They drd a frne Job of cookrng delrcrous food makrng our Penny Suppers successful wrth Martha Holloway actrn as charr man of almost all th suppers We enjoyed all four years rn F H S and we thank everyone who helped make rt a Journey of many fond memorres So dear drary we sard goodbye on our last day Frrday May 11 to Farrmount Hreh 'Vlay 20 was our baccalaur ate and May 21 our Commence ment then on Thursday May 24 we le t on our trrp whrch we had dreamed of takrnff for a long trme 'Vlay the classes followrng rn our footsteps experrence as wonderfu a Journey as we had SENIOR CLASS 51 0 0 ' c 1 1 ' A ,Q 1 ' K '. 7 - u Y ' ,6 . . 1. , . , s . . . .
