Trinidad Steel Band The sensational Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band of over 22 members from Trinidad performed on Oct. 9, in Wallman Hall. The Steel Band ' s music ranged from classical to rock and roll on oil drums. This fact in itself as- tounded the audience, but also because of the un- believable fidelity and artistic accomplishment with which they performed each concert or dance num- ber, whether it be modern, classical or native ca- lypso. The calypso numbers were combined with exciting dancing and chanting. The band performed such numbers as Handel ' s Hallelujah Chorus, Khachaturian ' s Sabre Dance, and several selections from the rock musical Hair. Above and Below: Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band performs some of their outstanding music on oil drums.

Set To Music Set to Music, a two-part program, ap- peared on Oct. 20 in Wallman Hall. The program was sponsored by the Convocation Committee. Selections from the musical theater were included in part one. They included, No, No, Nanette, Oklahoma, Pal joey, Carousel, Kiss Me Kate, and Most Happy Fella. Part two consisted of contemporary selec- tions from the shows Hair, The Fantas- tiks, Little Mary Sunshine, and Your Own Thing. The group finished with a sur- prise rock finale. Five talented artists composed the casts for this production. They include, Ted Bow- lin, Richard Flanders, Andrea Levine, Harri- son Fisher, and Patti Perkins. Jw 28 — Activities
