STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is the executive board of the student government organiza- tion, one member elected by the non-fraternity group and one faculty represen- tative appointed by the President of the College. One of the principle assignments of the Student Council is to meet at the begin- ning of each semester to determine the allocation of the student activity funds among the various campus activities and organizations. The budgets prepared are then published so that all students may know for what purposes their fees are being used. 20

BLAZERS To be elected a member of Blazers. Senior Woman ' s Honorary, organized in 1947, is a distinction highly hon- ored by every woman at Fairmont State College. Each year outstanding senior women are elected to this hon- orary organization. Women elected must have the qualities of scholarship, leadership, loyalty, and integrity and in addition, candidates must have earned at least a 2.85 average by the end of the fall term of their junior year. FLAMES Junior Women ' s Honorary, a chapter organization of edgment to the outstanding junior woman who possesses Blazers, was organized in May of 1966 on Recognition qualities of leadership and scholarship and who has given Day.
