' PneMcUnt JOHN W. PENCE As the spokes of a wheel center around the axle, the departments of Fairmont State College revolve around its President, John Wesley Pence. President Pence has served in this capacity since 1952. His associa- tion with- the college dates back to 1926 when he served as instructor in Political Science and Economics. He held the position of Dean of Men from 1928 to 1946. He served as acting president during 1947- 1948 while President Joseph Rosier was serving in the United States Senate. He became Dean of the College in 1947 and held that position until 1952 when he was appointed President. Because of his untiring efforts we heartily acknowledge President Pence for the growth of the school.
