H ln fulfillment of the prediction, Dean Shurtleff returned some years later as member of the faculty and as an adviser to the maturing annual. Times have changed and with the passing years Student Shurtleff has in turn become graduate, teacher, Dean of the'College, andafter twenty-two years at the college was retired. They gave the last full measure of their devotion that liberty might reign supreme, that we might enjoy the benefits of the democracy of our America. lt is in memory of them that we publish this issue of the 1948 lVloUND.
