Fairmont had a tough basketball team even though they ended the season with a 5-13 record. The conference was very good this year. During most of the season six teams in the conference were rat- ed in the state. Out of the 13 losses, 9 of them were to teams which were rated at one time during the season. The Tigers were very com- petitive with most of these rated teams. The Tigers ended their regular season games by winning their last two home games. The Tigers beat Giltner and Milligan. Milligan was rated at the time and they went on and qualified for the State Tournament. The captains for the Tigers were John Block and Tim Wehland. Honors earned dur- ing the season went to Matt Schepers who was named All-Conference Honorable Men- tion. Letter Winners are John Block, Daniel Hall, Mark Hanson, Kendell Verhage, Tim Wehland. Eric Schepers, Matt Schepers. Jas- on Harms and Keith Bristol. 21
