Chris studies her shot. Julie Jennett — Most Valuable Player Sue shows good form. Michelle looks for someone open. The Fairmont High School Girls Basketball team got off to a rather slow start at the beginning of the 1985-86 season. While winning only one of their first six games, the team maintained a positive, hard working attitude. The Tigers then turned around and won eight of their last eleven, posting a 9-8 record — their best in years. The highlight of the year was defeating the Shickley Longhorns in the first round of the Sub-District Tournament. Players receiving individual honors during the season were: Julie Jennett, 1st team All- Conference, World Herald Honorable Mention, Lincoln Journal-Star Honorable Mention, and voted team’s Most Valuable Player; Sheri Frazier, 2nd team All-Conference and received team’s hustle award; Raina Pieper, All-Conference Hon- orable Mention; Sue Priefert, voted team’s most improved player.
