In Memory Of Walter West WALTER L. WEST, being an alumnus of Fairmont High School’s Class Of ’37, took special interest and pride in the school and its students. For several years he voluntarily operated the public address system for many varied school programs and activities until the school procured its own system. For some twenty years, Mr. West announced home football games, ran the clock for home basketball games, and supported nearly every school event with his presence and helpfulness. For the past 27 years he lived in Fairmont and attended and assisted with the annual Alumni Banquets. As a Fairmont businessman he was active in all community affairs, especially those in relationship to the school and he helped several years with summer baseball programs for boys. 2
