“
. — The Tiger Fairmont Public School Fairmont, Nebraska 68354 In Memory Steve Thomsen The students of Fairmont High School dedicate the 1976 Tiger” in memory of our friend, Steve Thomsen. He was a popular member of our group throughout our school days, and we remember him with affection. In fact, his jokes and good times did much to keep our spirits high. Steve had his serious side as well. He excelled at sports, and teachers found him an eager student, par- ticularly inquisitive in math, science and shop. We Seniors must achieve that which Steve was denied the time to achieve. He will be a part of our endeavor for he was a part of us. They ended the season with a 6-2-1 record. Reflecting back on the season. Fair- mont was outplayed in only one game and that was a 16-0 loss to Clay Center. After that loss the offense went to work and scored. The tie with Exeter was very disappointing because it ended all possibilities of a state play-off berth. It was a game in which Fairmont moved the ball well in the mid- dle of the field but failed to punch it across the goal line. The final game was lost to Shickley 17-13 on the conference play off. It was a very exciting game and the lead changed sides 3 times. Fairmont mounted a drive late in the 4th quarter and pushed the ball down to the 1 yard line when the gun sounded, ending the game and the season.
