THOMPSONS LOCKER-frieno REED BROS, —FAIRMONT K.C.FULLER -MCCOOL MCCOOL DRIVE IN As the records show Fairmont did not have a winning season in Football. Ex- perience was the biggest determining factor. Making up the team were twelve Freshmen, two Sophomores, seven Jun- iors. and four Seniors. There was one or possibly two men with much experi- ence in football. Even though the team was inexperienced and were dropping game after game, these young men did not turn in their shoes, they kept work- ing hard and showed much spirit. They ended the season with the hope that the 1972 Tiger Football team will show what they can do with the experience they re- ceived. Although the team was young and the season proved to be frus- trating. the players kept up their spirit. Having a tough schedule didn't hurt the Fairmont Ti- gers until after the half when most of the teams started pulling away. The Tiger Team took part in three tournaments during the year. The first was the Trumbull In- vitational Holiday Tournament. They were beat out both nights. First by Trumbull and then by Giltner. The Tigers were defeated the first night of the Pioneer Conference Tournament after a hard battle with Lawrence. District Tournaments, held in Geneva, ended the basket- ball season with a lost to Clay Center. Volleyball Qirls Complete Successful Season Victorious Tigerettes: (back row) N. Girmus, J. Stevens, D.
