Patty's dream to become a famous novelist comes true when her boyfriend. Tod, borrows the Principal's new typewriter for her to use. The typewriter gets broken, and in trying to dispose of it, the characters become involved in all sorts of trouble. Patty, in the confusion, sells her novel to a local newspaper to find out that it really was her diary. Although it was a scandal at the time, everything turns out for the better.
