The band has participated in many ac- tivities this past year. They are as follows: Performing and playing at home football games. Janice also tried out for All-State band in Grand Island on October 5, 1963. Joyce Smith represented the band as Miss Fairmont at the Harvest of Harmony at Grand Island on October 5. Maynard. The Athletic Banquet was held on March 25, 1964. The theme of the banquet was Tiger Time. Sports emblems were used as decorations carrying out the theme of Tiger Time. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal served by the eighth graders. Group singing followed. Fifteen letter awards were presented to the boys who participated in basketball and football this year. Pep Club awards were presented to the senior girls and sales captains and cheerleaders. Mr. A1 Papik from Doane College gave a speech on the desire to play and good sportsmanship. Toastmistress- Karen Wendt Homecoming King-Harold Long Homecoming Queen-Janice Moore Fairmont’s Homecoming was a success again this year. We lost our game to Utica by a score of 7-0. King Harold Long and Queen Janice Moore were crowned by first attendant Joyce Smith and second attendant Janet Uri.
