S enior CL SS J4islory On September 1, 1948, 15 students entered kindergarten, beginning their 13 years of education in Fairmont Public Schools. They were Dick Hall, Jerry Gangstad, Ronald Bohling, Linda Moore, Connie West, Larry Kelch. Bob Roth, Marylee Tucker, Sharon Lansden, George Cantrell, Jeanne Martin, George Tomlinson, Sharon Heinz, Sherry Spier, and Dick Bockius. Mrs. Baker was our teacher. Karen Domeier entered at the start of the second semester, making 16 students. During the first grade we had 14 pupils. We lost Jeanne Martin and George Tomlinson. In the second grade we gained 5 students and lost none. Keith Salmon, Jack McIntyre, Wayne Ackerman, and Bob Pease were our new students. Miss Malsbury was our teacher in both first and second grades. Miss Hurst taught us for the nexttwoyears, during the third and fourth grades. There were 20 in our third grade class, losing Keith Salmon, while gaining Mervin Poggemeyer, Lloyd Tucker, and Robert Augustine. Charles Harmon, Ray Reisner, Frederick Churchill, Dick Havel, Frazier Burwell, Judy Kelly, and Doris Vodicka were all new students in the fourth grade. We lost Mervin Poggemeyer and Dick Hall, making the fourth grade our biggest class throughout our school years with 25. Our fifth grade class was made up of 22 students, and our teacher was Mrs. Steinmeyer. We gained only 2 students; Russel Kreachbaum and Glen Cudaback. We lost Robert Augustine, Charles Harmon, Jack McIntyre, Sherry Spier, and Judy Kelly. Betty Kline was a new class member in the sixth grade. We lost Frazier Burwell and Dick Bockius. Our teacher was Mrs. Bandemer. We then went up stairs and Miss Slezak taught us in the seventh grade. Frederick Churchill, Betty Kline, Russel Kreachbaum and Linda Moore all left. We gained no one, and had a class of 16. Our eighth grade class rose to 19 when Virginia White and Kennie Kinzie came. Judy Kelly also returned. We lost no one and our teacher was Mrs. Farrar. The next year 21 lowly green Freshmen were finally in high school. This year we gained Linda Kohler and Kay Bradbury, while Betty Kline also returned to us. We lost Kennie Kinzie. Our sponsor was the Home Economics teacher, Miss Faimon. During our sophomore year our sponsors were Mrs. Wolsleben and Mr. Rasmussen. Linda Moore came back from Geneva, and David Matson and Marcia Riley were also new members. Judy Kelly left us, along with Kay Bradbury and Linda Kohler. A new member in the Junior class was Sandra Trauernicht, and Judy Kelly returned once again. We had lost Sharon Heinz, Connie West, Lloyd Tucker, and during the year, David Matson. Our sponsors were Mrs. Steinke and Mr. Cumpston. The graduating class of 1961 has 19 members. Kay Unterseher was a new member and we lost Sharon Lansden. There are 5 graduating seniors who completed their entire schooling in Fairmont together. They are Jerry Gangstad, Bob Roth, George Cantrell, Larry Kelch, and Ronnie Bohling. Marilee Tucker and Karen Domeier have attended all but one semester. Our senior class sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Mason. -Sponsor- O. K. RUBBER WELDERS Geneva, Nebraska

S..i.r CL„ Wilt We, the Senior Class of Fairmont High School, being of sound mind and body, do declare this to be our last will and testament. To the Junior Class we will our seniority and infinite wisdom hoping they will keep as many names on the honor roll as we did. To the Sophomore Class we will our ambitions and successes. Also any old failures. To the lowly Freshmen we will our old papers, candy and gum wrappings, and thumb tacks, hoping they get the point. 1, WAYNE ACKERMAN, will my ability to be a smart farmer to all of the dumb city slickers. (They need it.) I, RONNIE BOHLING, will my musical ability to Charles Hulse in hopes he will play my trombone; and my position as Student Manager during football to Kelly Griffith. I, GEORGE CANTRELL, will my love for horror movies to Janet Uri; my flirting and dancing ability to Jim Washburn; my ability to get along with the teachers to Steve Bender and my hair to someone who promises never to cut it. I, GLEN CUDABACK, will my curly hair to Albert Radke; and my ability to skip school to Danny Perkins in hopes he will take over where I leave off. I, KAREN DOMEIER, will my flirting ability to Judy Hildebrand; my dancing to Carol Jean Cantrell; and my ability to exchange rings to Jean Bridgman. I, JERRY GANGSTAD, will my red hair to Marvin Real in order for him to have an excuse for his temper; to Darrel Vodicka I will my Blue Angel.' 1, DICK HAVEL, will my thumb tacks to anyone who enjoys watching others sit on them; my ability to go to Kansas goes to Bonnie Fleharty in hopes she makes good use of it. I, LARRY KELCH, will my ability to drive carefully to Francis Lefler, knowing he will take up where 1 left off. I, JUDY KELLY, will my old blue Ford to the Roadrunners in hopes they have fun pushing it; my freckles to Dianne Perkins knowing that she will appreciate them; my dark hair to Bonnie Fleharty, if she promises never to bleach it. I, BETTY KLINE, will my ability to drive and the Old Ford” to my brother, Ronnie Kline; to Sharon Albro I will my seat on the school bus, in hopes that she will share it with someone else after I'm gone. I, LINDA MOORE, will my position as Drum Majorette to Sally Pease hoping she'll learn to be more graceful. I, BOB PEASE, will my athletic ability to Butch” Long in hopes he can take over where I left off. My build goes to Francis Lefler. I, MARCIA RILEY, will my shyness to Joyce Tucker. My ability to read books goes to anyone who feels like carrying them home. I, BOB ROTH, will my red Dodge to Francis Lefler in hopes he will someday be able to drive it. My ability to get along with girls goes to Ray Ackerman. I, SANDY TRAUERNICHT, will my little sister (Judy Snider) to Ronnie Kline and to her I wish to will my long hair. I also will my ability to go steady to Sharon Albro hoping she'll use it wisely. I, MARYLEE TUCKER, will my height to Rex Heckenlively. (Ijust know he can use it!) ,, , I, KAY UNTERSEHER, will my ability to embrrass myself in front of a class to Janet Uri. , I, DORIS VODICKA, will my former job to Bonnie Fleharty since she likes to wait on the boys so well. My ability to get passing grades and to drive a car goes to my little brother. Darrell Vodicka. 1, VIRGINIA WHITE, will my boyfriend’s brother to Elaine Long. We, BETTY KLINE and SANDRA TRAUERNICHT, will our job of writing the Class Will to the unlucky Juniors who get it next year.
