Only one of our 22 puplla graduating from P.H.3., In tho class of nineteen hundred and flfty-slx, has gone through, from kindergarten to the twelfth grade, in dear old Fairmont. She is Betty Dawson; and Mias Moore was the brave teacher that started her In kindergarten. Dw®in© Hall and Betty Tice Joined our happy grouo in the first grade. Kiss Moore surviving the kindergarten year stayed and taught this enthusiastic group. 3 Miss Hurst then took the reins in the second grade. We had two new pupils that year, Barbara Hall and Dick Frazier. At the beginning of the third grade year we found Pat Adama and Shirley Tutty as our new students with Miss Hurst still guiding the reins. Miss Hurst was again our teacher as we struggled through the fourth grade. Denny Michaelis, Floyd Jacobsen, Betty Moul, Marvin Roper, and Duane Lott Joined our force that year. Four more students Joined us in the fifth grade. They were Jan Busselle, Delila Cantrell, Cody Stollar and Ivan Little. Also on the agenda was a new teacher Mrs. Ekwall. Betty moul, Marvin Roper, and Duane Lott left at the end of the year. Mrs. Dado took over during our sixth grade and we lost Barbara French who moved to Hastings. A new member of our class in the seventh grade was Jacky Pease. Mrs. Wendell was our teacher. Denny Michaelis left during the eighth grade. Mrs. Wendell taught us our final year in grade school. Twenty-one green freshmen climbed the steps of F.H.S. to start our high school careers. Many were new students that had come in from the country. They were Wendell Smith, Jerry Smith, Marvin Roper, Shirley Perkins, Rosalie Novak, Betty Moul, and Duane Lott. Dale Fry Joined us from Belvidere. Mr. Sipes was the class sponsor. The highlight of the year was Freshmen Initation which obviously we all survivedl For our soohomore year Mr. Sipes was again class sponsor. Shirley Souba left at the end of the year when she moved to Burrton, Kansas. Our Junior year was one we will never forget. We received our class rings, and presented our play, Down to Earth , which was directed by Mr. Robert Brown. It was a big success because of those long and well-remembered rehersals. The Junior- Senior Banquet and Prom was another big highlight with the theme Outer Space . Sandra Roby joined our class at the be- ginning of the Junior year and Dwaine Hall left to join the Air Force. Mr. Brown and Mr. Maschka were class sponsors. Last but not least we come to our senior year. Taking pictures, preoaring the annual, giving the class play; directed by Mrs. Cellar, and taking a sneak day, are all a Dart of the hustle bustle of being a senior. Then the long awaited baccalaurate and commencement bring our high school days to an end. With a class of nine boys and twelve girls we graduated from Fairmont High School. Our sponsors were Miss Allen and Mr. Robbins. TODAY WE FOLLOW TOMORROW WE LEAD
